People like this may have to be walked away from if you find your life is damaged by them. My prayer is you don't have many people in this category that you need to walk away from. They are the hardest to leave - just as this kind of book is the hardest to toss away. About 20 percent into People Like Us I put down the book without any likelihood of picking it Like People book again.

It seemed like Dominick Dunne had introduced a hundred characters, each with multiple last names plus nicknames, and all of them obnoxious/5(94). There are few books I would describe as beautifully trashy, but People Like Us definitely fits the bill.
